A Love Note         Liz

I had thought to write you a love note –

Something long overdue to be wrote.

And as we sat and we stared 

at the news on the screen

I so wanted our love to come alive...and mean

More than breakfast or dinner 

or the cat grit...

And what should we eat 

and has anyone cleaned it?

Stop trying too hard, let‘s be who we are,

And finally, quietly, swing on a star.

I know I sound silly, it’s a cuddle I’d choose –

Just a quick little schmooze,

Please be a bit bolder,

Put an arm round my shoulder,

Plant a peck on my cheek,

And I’ll be content till the end of the week.
